Colonial Sugar Refinery .

This sugar refinery was founded in 1895 as the Gramercy Sugar Company along with the surrounding town of Gramercy, Louisiana. The town is one of only two sugar company towns that have survived in Louisiana.

Love the look of the old sugar mill and the history that goes with it. Your grandfather accused me of living in "Gone With the Wind."

Great shot of a historical place. It was not that long ago that all the sugar cane grown on the east bank of St James Parish was brought there for processing.
