Summer Goes Down In Flames
Day 139

That pretty much sums it up, doesn't it?

Gorgeous cloud formations all afternoon and evening. Really stunning.
Unfortunately I had to run out for a while and (once again) left the camera at home. I don't know how many accidents I avoided (or caused!) by ogling the sky instead of the road (and can one 'ogle' a road, I ask? I'm not that desperate. Yet.) Erm. Where was I?
Oh.
Anyway, this is all that was left of the sky by the time I screeched into the drive, pelted inside, and tore off the lens cap.

(The view on the way home was layers and layers of delicate gold and silver cloud with tiny, cottoney clouds on top, fading to brilliant pink and blue. Honestly, this is just a shred of what it was.)

I can't imagine that, moments before, when you were careening around slowpokes, the sky could have been any better than this. I think you caught the perfect moment.

Awesome! Sunsets usually get more beautiful as they "age", so you must have gotten home at just the right moment because this is outstanding.
