Plans1-1SideTopPic1.jpg

Here's the side and top views all together. You should note that I have made one very big change from the image in Inferno mag#8. In the mag picture the nose opens into three petals. I have made them just be a split prow with a top and a bottom. I was thinking of a side to side opening prow but then I thought that from a design standpoint a drop ramp is the best choice. Realistically it only needs the underside of the nose cone to drop for Vehicles and tanks to disembark but if the nose also lifts then people will be able to see the interior (always a good idea) plus then titans will be able to disembark (I shall make it possible for titans to be carried as well by having the upper deck slide back into the engine section. The way I figure it the Dropship has the capacity for 60 tanks (40 on the upper deck, 20 on the lower deck plus 130 infantry units or it can trade 4 tanks for space for a warhound and 16 tanks for space for a Reaver or a Warlord. I'm also building a hanger door on the top nestled between the turrets just below the command decks for 2 squadrons of thunderbolts to launch from. The only visible weapons in the Inferno pic (by David Pugh) are two Las-cannon mounted on turrets and Ram missiles (according to text). I'm going to add some more defense turrets for point defense (eventually when I get to the detailing phase) and I'll play it as if the weapons are the same as the Volcano cannon on the Shadowsword SHT.
