dropwship_devourer.JPG

Here it is from the Black Library Inferno magazine #8 (p36). No contestation of GW IP rights is intended but I wanted to post the pic of this dropship as a reference for people before I attempt construction of this behemoth (not as a game piece, but for scenarios). I have to expect that it will not work out exactly as shown but this picture allows me to get over the inspiration stage and get with the construction. From the picture a Leman Russ is .5cm long (estimation with angle). Luckily with a side view it gets easy to figure out size. In epic scale a Russ is approximately 2.5cm long so it becomes easy to take a russ model and work up the sizes. The drop ship should be 45cm long, 10cm across the cone, 17.5cm height from gear to command deck and 30cm from wing-tip to wing tip. The toughest part will be the curvature of the hull. It will take a bit of experimentation to find the right circumprence. Though I might be tempted to just to block it out a bit and not go for the stark tube look (call it a 'bakka' pattern Devourer?). Material of choice will be styrene card and tube (of course).

other sizes: small medium large original auto
