I took this picture from the inside of the Barbican
in Krakow. What I was after was the juxtaposition
of the 16th century walls with the Soviet art on
the Building across the street. Also note the
neo-classical medallion on the corner of the newer
building. The medallion was presumably part of the
original building. The larger pink sculptures were
added to the building during the Soviet era. But
for my money the simple well proportioned brick
structures of the Barbican are more beautiful.
