10,000 years old or 5 years old?

I have always been an avid student of oriental philosophy and very interested in physics.
The two are not contradictory.
10,000 years ago the Taoist were drawing pictures of what they called the basic element.
They drew an atom.
If you read modern physics (I don’t claim to understand it … physicist don’t either) it reads
much more like philosophy than mechanics.
When contradictions become the rule I become much more comfortable with the world.

wonderful sentiment and one I can relate to quite well. I also like the lines in the photo.

A beautiful image of some well-cared for and obviously valued books.

I'm not sure I followed all that. :) But the photo is beautiful. Love the colors and lines and tones.

You are a thoughtful (ie full of thought) person. It's intersting, but as we learn more about people from the bits of informatin that is volunteered in captions and in images, we get to know more and more about that person. I've noticed (and mentioned) that your images are very gentle - refelctive or introspective. This image is yet another piece that adds a bit more to the 'Larry puzzle' Very nice image and person!

Yes, ying & yang...you must have one if you have the other. Good one Larry.

Isn't there an old oriental saying that goes like -- the thing that is most certain is the uncertainty... Cheers, Mattana

Oh my, this is so far over my level that I can't even begin to understand.
As it is, I like your photo.

In my line of work, all I care about it gravity...easy to understand...don't want things falling down ;)

Great reading and nice texture.

What a collection, Larry.

The juxtaposition of East and West.
(Myself - I tend to be more influenced by the old Chinsese classics.
We have here a text that is reputed to be over three thousand years old, and still being used today - A guide of sorts to assist us in how to respond to change in ourselves and in the world around us.)

Really great idea and execution. There is ying/yang at several levels here.
