Dad and the 17

Truax Field

WW II Chelveston England, my Dad worked in the Tire Depot, and the Crash Crew on the B-17 base there. This was the first time he'd seen a B17 since the war.

"a feeling of isolation from the world of my Dad and the plane, and from the past too maybe"
I don't know where it comes from, but I can feel it.
Very well done.

Phil
I re-cropped the image as you suggested, and you were very correct. I think this crop also gives a more of a feeling of distance from the viewer, a feeling of isolation from the world of my Dad and the plane, and from the past too maybe. Thank You for your comment sincerely.

Another image that speaks, Barri. You abstract your dad by photographing him behind and relating him to this object from his past. There is good scale incongruity here as well. Small man vs. large plane. You might try cropping out some of that washed out sky. It would bring the eye down from the plane to your dad, and from your dad back to the plane.

Thanks much SaintJ. It Has many memories for me and I was lucky to get it. I was mostly there to get pics of the plane when I saw him standing there looking at it...and was in the right place with no one in front of me. You have a great gallery, and I return there often.
