Dragonfly

I was all set to buy a new lens today -- a Canon 28-135 IS. But my local camera store was
out of stock. Then I remembered I had an old, cheap, plastic kit lens for my old, cheap, film
Rebel G -- a Canon 35-80 EF f/4-5.6 lens. I decided to give it a whirl at a nearby lake
and see if I could produce a good picture. This little guy came by, and here's the result.
I'm rather pleased!

Other images I captured today this lens are at http://www.pbase.com/digitalgee/canon_3580

I have the cheapy 80-200 "pocket rocket" that I occasionally put a Tamron 1.4X teleconverter on and I get some pretty decent photos with it... this is darn good!

Not too shabby!! I think this is great -- I love the muted, clear colors and DOF. Very sharp.

This is good, I guess if you find the sweet spot on these older lense, they do a great job.

WOW! WOW! I think you hit the jackpot! So close, so clear! Take the girls out for dinner with the $ you just saved.
