Hay Baling.jpg

With all the round bales currently it is nice to see some old square bales again. Riding the wagon stacking the bales is almost a lost art. Even the local swimming holes to relax in afterward are almost gone. I fondly remember the soreness and tiredness of an honest days work. That and the meals those farm ladies cooked up for the crew. :)

What a lovely photo. Never had to bale but sure do remember having to ride the hay rake , especially on the steep hills.

Seems like you've struck the right chord here, Wayne. Looks like really hard work, and very rewarding. Nice job.

Such wonderful memories of summer on the farm, baling, swinging from the tire swing, swimming in the local swimming hole, eating watermelon, oh yes, I do remember.

I started driving the ford tractor at the age of 5. This was before baling hay started. I remember stacking the hay bales in the barn. As you said it was very hard work.

You're tellin' my story, Demmy. I learned to drive the Ford tractor at age ten bringing water to the crew and then driving the hay wagon and finally graduated tp stacking bales on the wagon and unloading in the barn...those were the days!! Thanks for the memories....
