This watercolor was done by Paul R. Knight, my dad's friend. We lived in the top left portion of the "chateau" as my dad called it. He thought the house dated to 1749, and said that in WWII it was used for General Pershing's temporary headquarters. My dad also told us he worked for the French Resistance, but...who knows?
