Observed from the top of Pitcher Mtn. (elev. 2153 feet), in Stoddard, New Hampshire.
This sunspot event was one of the largest in a number of years and with lots of haze acting
as a great filter, was clearly visible with unaided eyes for a few brief minutes before the
sun dropped behind a heavy horizon cloud layer. A spectacular sight.
