Looking up the valley from Symmes Saddle toward the area of Shepherd Pass (12,000 ft., 3,660 m.). At this point we still have about five more miles to Anvil Camp (10,170 ft., 3,100 m.), our campsite for the night. It sits below the unnamed peak in the middle of this photo. Shepherd Pass is behind the peak, but in that cirque visible at the end of the valley.
