Typically English??

Typically English... I wish I had a £ for every time I've heard that when talking about the weather! It seems we all love talking about the weather be it good or bad, we just love to talk about it.

Today we had some typically English weather, sunshine and showers all day long. not what you'd expect for late June, more typically April, one minute there's a torrential downpour with thunder and lightening and then in ten minutes it's glorious sunshine. - See I'm doing it now!!

Today I left work with the sun shining through a totally clear blue sky and having travelled only five or six miles caught sight of the rain clouds that were heading for home too. I pulled over at the bottom of Gonerby Hill (we live the other side of the hill) to take the three shots that I later stitched together for my PotD.

So today we have some typically English hills with some typically English clouds bringing some typically English weather!

Ian,
Your caption is wonderful and right on target. This is definitely what I think of as a "typically English" countryside. Beautiful work.

This photo reminds me of my trip through England some 35 years ago. Hitch-hiking a Rolls-Royce picked us up in our scouts-uniform to drive us off through this wonderfull countryside of Wales with the afternoon-sun in our face half dozing off admiring the sight of a green peaceful soft sloping landscape. Thnx for sharing.

Having achieved such a beauty with your little P&S, I just wonder if I you would consider it as a favour from my side to relief you of the burden of carrying your fancy EOS and all those heavy protruding lenses around :-)
Well done Ian

I say old chap, I would like to chat you up a bit regarding this panorama, eh what? I think you have done jolly good representing dear olde England. In fact this one has me in stiches it is so lovely.
I do hope you have a good weekend while those of us in the colonies are celebrating our rebellion against the crown a while back.
Very well, carry on now.

Gorgeous!

You know, as a young person I didn't imagine that it'd be so time consuming and money consuming to raise my kids... I pictured myself travelling more than I'm able now. I know the day will come when time and circumstance maybe different and perhaps someday I'll venture farther than I'm able now, but I just feel so fortunate to see the world through the eyes of the PAD family. Thanks for sharing your world.

Nice English country side. I've got some quid left over from my trip to see some English people last year....Might as well stick with the "English" theme, and say Nice shot Englishman! (lol)!
