One of my more bizare childhood memories is from the post-Sesame Street show, 'The Electric Company,' where a discorporate woman's head, made entirely out of flowers, was animated against a black background singing 'Habanera' from Carmen. It's eyes were made of pink Gerber daisies, and I think some pedals even fell off in the campy clever idiom of Henson-Oz as it sort of wiggle-danced and batted it's eyelashes. It's a strange picture to imagine, but it really was on TV and really has stuck in my head all these years. And furthermore, today, here and now, this fabulous cake could easily get up, sing 'Habanera,' seduce Escamillo, ruin Micaela and Don Jose's matrimonial plans, and end up running off with Kermit the Frog. Bravo! Ole!
