This impressive looking building across from Westminster Abbey is not a church but some sort of cultural center and auditorium connected with the Methodist Church. If you look closely you'll see a couple of Bobbies. There was very high security around it on this day because Prince Charles and the Dalai Lama were meeting there. The street was closed off when our tour group left Westminster Abbey, and we had to meet our bus a couple of blocks away. Later, when we were going to see the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, the red avenue leading to the palace was briefly closed to allow a speeding car carrying Prince Charles to get through. We didn't see him, but I would rather have seen the Dalai Lama anyhow.
