Pyrrhuloxia

Tucson, AZ

This Pyrrhuloxia (Cardinalis sinuatus) ( a bird similar to the Northern Cardinal) was right infront of me. Luckily, my 400mm f2.8 L IS lens had a 25mm extension tube on it allowing for close focusing. This is pretty much full frame of this young male Pyrrhuloxia.

That's a pretty picture, but it's not a cardinal. It's called a pyrrhuloxia. We have both birds in Tucson.
