Campesino kids in front of Huascarán - Living beneath the big hill.

On the way back down from the National Park, we stopped at this overlook along the dirt road to
photograph the twin peaks of Huascarán. Curious about the gringos near their house, these
campesino children came over to investigate and ask for "una propina" (money). Instead of a
direct handout, the deal became a "modeling fee" of one nuevo sol for each child. The older girl,
Rosa Maria, was the talkative one. She and her younger brother are looking to the right, as I've
just asked them whose dog that is sitting there out of the frame. The boy replied, "He's
mine!" "So ... What's his name?" "Rambo!", was his reply.

Seems even the campesino kids know of Sylvester Stallone ... And yeah, he later pulled "Rambo" in
by the ear so he could pose, too.

A very charming picture!
I like the almost formal grouping but spontaneous pose of these kids. Placing them in the context of their surrounding is done well and tells a bigger story. I love shots like this. Thanks much.
