Vallunaraju
(5686m)
It was late in the afternoon when we arrived in Huaraz. By the time I had checked in, and
suitcases offloaded to the room on the second floor of the hotel, the sun was beginning to set, and
the western faces of the peaks in the Cordillera were beginning to light up. There was just enough
time to set up the tripod on the balcony, mount the 70-200 with a 1.4xTC, and begin shooting.
This light on Vallunaraju, barely grazing the ridge in front, lasted no more than 20 seconds.
