Huascarán (6768m)

I had waited too long to finally see the twin peaks of Huascarán from ground level. While the
Cordillera Blanca, and Huascarán, are extremely impressive from the air, they are even more so
from the valley floor. At 6768m above sea level (22,334ft), Huascarán Sur is the highest peak in
the tropical latitudes, and is the highest peak in Perú. This image is far from the best photo I
made of the mountain; it has meaning to me because it was the first.
