It is a beautiful walk, quietly winding up the hill through a series of villages, surrounded by terraces - buckwheat, millet, rice and drying corn. Women are laughing and chatting. Children running out to say hello and give us oranges. I am happy to be away from the motorway of the last few days, away from the pack horse trains and even out of the sync with the rest of the trekking world.
