Olive-backed Pipit

Korea

By far the most common Pipit of the trip, with flocks of hundreds seen hitting the islands during the rain. At one time, on Eocheong, we had 950 Olive-backed Pipits pass overhead in only 35 minutes. Their squeeky calls were a constant on the islands.

Though rather plain in this photo, taken late in the afternoon, some were pretty spiffy and fairly bright olive on the back.
