May 18: Jacaranda Tree

This is an early post, I'm going into La Jolla for a business lunch so I may have something else later in the day.
This one is for Kai ... Baja_Traveler... matching his Jacaranda from the end of last week. These trees adorn San Diego this time of the year, and I'm always in awe at their beauty and unusual color.
While I love these trees, I'm not real wild about this image. It is difficult to get contrast between the blossom and the sky, and I may have over-sharpened it.

Nice looking tree, it has a nice soft texture - maybe you need a ladder so you can get a different background for the blossoms?

Very pretty colors! The leaves are almost fern-like.

This is great. I am not sure whether you oversharpened or not... there does seem to be some effect on the image but I think the effect works great. And the colors are wonderful.

I think the image is just great! These trees are not much to look at most of the year, but they are awesome right now.

Beautiful! Lovely colors. It doesn't look oversharpened to me.

P.S. about portuguese women...they are wonderful...my wife does not alow me to take photos from women :-) ...so I must go for the other themes...ehehehe...
but here is a gallery that could give you an idea of what you could find in that area in Portugal!!!

i think the blue and purple go lovely together. the framing adds a lot as well. just goes to show that stark contrasts aren't always the way to go ;)

I thought it was wysteria from the thumbnail but I open the image to see it's much more exotic!

Perfect hues of blue and purple. I want to do my bedroom walls in this combo, but I imagine the spouse would object!

It is ideed very delicate coulour to make a good contrast with the sky, but this shot is mastering the situation. Maybe unknown in Europe, but very nice blossom.
