Originally a church built by the Eastern Roman Empire later converted to a mosque by the Ottoman Turks. Today, it is used as a museum not a place of worship. Nobody should pretend that it is a 'mosque' or a 'church'. Ottomans were tolerant and respectful to preserve the mosaics and the stained glass influenced by Christianity. This beautiful monument reflects the architecture of two different cultures in history. I hope someday, it will be possible for Christians and Moslems to freely worship under the same structure.
