The Grey, or Japanese, Thrush was condidered a vagrant to Korea only a few years ago, but birding on the islands the last couple of years has shown it to be a rare, but regular, migrant. This is a beautiful bird, which I have a few more shots to post of. This photograph was taken in "The gully" on Socheong. The gully is located at the extreme southwest corner of Socheong, so acts as a natural stopping point for migrants on passage. The location combined with great habitat, makes for the best birding on the island, although it's a tough trip to get there.
Like many areas of Korea, immediate plans call for this great area to be concreted in the near future, for no real reason.
