Near the Haghia Sophia is an old hamam or bath house, designed by the master architect Sinan. It's now used to show carpets, sold by the government. You don't have to pay, and it gives a good impression of what a classic hamam can look like (if you manage to think away the carpets). Similar use of hamams is made elsewhere in this and many cities. This look of course is towards the ceiling.
