Gayle, the bad weather you talked about can serve you well in this challenge, as in this shot. The addition of the water-spray from the wheels really help convey the sense of motion here! When the weather is good (and the light is bright), you have to shoot at very small apertures (F22 for example) to get long enough shutter speeds (in the 1/8s to 1/30s range) to get the right amount of motion blur - unless you have some ND-filters, of course. Would have liked this taken at an slower shutter speed, to get a more streaky bacground blur. I know it is hard to get a sharp image that way, but the only way to learn the panning technique is to practice it. --Olaf
