Getting Out of the House

So I took a trip to the big city of Hollywood for a lovely baby shower for a dear friend of mine. And I was sure to take my camera...and snapped away when I took the wrong turn on the freeway, ending up in Downtown, L.A. and having to get back on the freeway to head west on the 101.

Thank you so much for the thoughts on this - I think you've all caught just the right mood for what is downtown, L.A.

Very foreboding image (as I'm sure LA downtown is). Nicely done

Oh! I also like the little number 20. Didn't notice that the first time.

Great image--I like how the light standard and the glare of sunlight break up the monotony of the windows. I love going downtown to walk around.

Geez...I did that in Atlanta once. I drive between Wisconsin and Florida so much I almost think the car should know the way by itself, but I was in the far left lane and somehow thought I had come to the right spot to make the big curve under downtown Atlanta and ended up actually IN downtown Atlanta. It's a frustrating experience; and I was surprised to see how small the downtown of such a big city seemed.
I think this picture seems like the essence of a big, blank city; and that's how I imagine LA to be...never been there.

I like the strong lines and range of tones. It gives one the "big and shiny, but not so friendly" downtown feeling.
