Union St. between Powell St. and Columbus Ave. The background building is Verdi Apartments. The store on the right side of the picture is 673 Union St., Jake Toschi's business. The business consisted of a bar selling alchoholic beverages and a restaurant where Tillie Toschi, Jake's wife, did the cooking. Behind the fire hydrant is the "cigar store" of the business where I spent many after school hours tending the "store"
