We flew into Buffalo, New York to get our rental car and a foot-long hotdog at Louie's

Unfortunately, Louie's hotdogs don't hold a candle to Nathan's world-famous ones. But I was interested in trying their signature fried bologna sandwich and veal hotdog at least once.

I don't know anyone in Buffalo, New York anymore. I had a cousin there named Har who would have been almost 90. We called her "Jook Sing Har", which struck my daughter as awfully funny because "jook sing" is a semi-derogatory name for someone born in the United States.

So this time, we just drove around looking at the pretty parks and architecture and passed through Buffalo State University. There is an abandoned old-style psychiatric facility across the street that locals suggested we visit. It wasn't too creepy-looking during the daytime, but they said that no one wants to be near it at night.
