We were in Virginia Beach, VA. on Arbor Day about 5 years ago
and were given 2 trees...this one and a river birch. This little
tree was planted in an azalea bed that had 2 large pines on each
end of it. The poor thing was almost forgotten when the azaleas
outgrew it. We moved it in the yard where it has plenty of space
and it is now growing by leaps and bounds.
