April 8th, StellarJaymontage copy.jpg

San Jose, CA

Spring Break day 4- While attempting to find a nearby lake...
Came accross Alum Rock Park- Lots of trails, picnic areas, etc.. so pulled over, did a little exploring and some just enjoying the picnic area.. LOTS of squirrels and Jays. One fellow was feeding them bits of dried fruit from his trail mix.. he got a crowd of Jays around him and 2 young brave squirrels.

After he left, I sat on the bench and took pictures of the crowd... There was this one bright blue feather on the ground, that almost became PaD by itself.. (still tempted) but, had so many birds decided to montage some of them with PS. While trying to brighten up the feather, using another feather pic layer.. Hit color-it washed out the birds and I went.. hmmmmmmm.. did a spotlight around the feather and went hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.. again.... Here's the result.. Still not sure of it yet.. Think I like it. I like the silolette over the feather, don't know if I should have kept the other birds or not... Ahh well.. enjoy!

That feather is pretty cool.. Be fun to see a close crop of just the feather... another idea would be to remove the jay in the center and just frame the feather with the other birds... then again it's not bad right now....:)
