Dover Castle

My parents were brought up near Dover.
They married in 1935, John arrived in 1937 and Gill in 1943.
They survived the war in what was known as “Hell Fire Corner” with shelling as well as the bombing.
I popped up in 1946(baby boomer) and we moved up to London in 1948.
We returned to Dover on holiday to stay with Granddad through my childhood.
We still had a relative down there until 1991 so my family had very happy holidays down there as well.
Adrienne and I are going to spend Easter there for old times sake.

I always love to hear about other people's family history. I'm fascinated by some things, especially around the war as I have had my grandparents telling me their stories. I hope you have a lovely break in Dover! I like the sentiment you've shown in your picture.
