The Joy of Engineering by Howard Sandler

Admittedly, a bit of a stretch on this month's theme, but girders reaching for the sky say joy to me.

Great capture...I really like the framing you set up, it creates for an entire image pulled together, without it, the image would fail.
Some may not see joy, but I sure do. The joy that the engineer felt, for completing his project successfully. Nothing is more joyful than accomplishing something unique :)

From John down under:
Hi Howard,
I see you are getting out the big guns to appeal to all of us engineers out here! :o)
I have a friend who is also en engineer who jokes about engineering being inherently interesting. I would like to add that engineering is also inherently photogenic and joyful, kind of an all things to all people shotgun approach! ;o)
All that aside, I really like this shot as a photograph, even if it doesn't say joy to me as much as some of the other entries, actually most of the other entries to be honest. The simple subject matter is well framed against the sky to create a striking image. This is a very good pic worthy of gracing our Challenge galleries. Well done.
Cheers, John

Wonderful image! Joyous . . . maybe . . . yeah, why not? It certainly stirs my soul.
