Well, I have no real idea what I am doing with this camera. Fumbling really. I vowed I was not going to upload any images until I had a chance to get out in the field with it. Well, tonightI decided to try it out on some flowers growing in the side woods. This Periwinkle is not the best composed image, and as I was taking it it began to rain.
This is a 1.6 second exposure at f/6.3, with noise reduction on, no exposure compensation. It was shot on tripod with the IR remote. Focus was set to manual at 170mm f.l. Macro mode was enabled. ISO 50. I tried to just let the camera do what it wanted. The original was shot RAW, and saved as a jpeg in Camedia 4.2. No other post processing was done. Now, the image above is a much lower resolution jpeg just for show. The RAW file is over 11 meg, but they are similar. In fact, after blinking the images back and forth, the RAW is only slightly sharper than the jpeg (but it is noticeable).
