One of the most popular subjects for mural painting is Jataka stories which are stories of past lives of Buddha before he was reincarnated as Buddha. This one depicts the life of Pra Vessandara (Waitsandorn). He is exiled after having given, as an act of sacrifice, his town’s elephant to another town. Here Waitsandorn and Matsri (Mattsee), his wife, with their two children are leaving town.
