I would like to see here more eye level. It might be a nice perspective. Sometimes its hard to get everything right, and with that perfect expression, this may have been the best of the group. Anyway just a thought, thanks for sharing :)
Hello Veronica
You have read into my photo exactly what I was trying to portray that is why I called the photo "such a heavy load for a little girl" heavy having two meanings. You are right she is such a young girl with a lot of responsibility and hardship. In the bag (bilum) she is carrying her little one year old sister, she was responsible for the child for the whole day while her parents were doing their daily chores. Your kind words about my photo are a real encouragement for me to do better.
Kind Regards
Rene
Hello Luminus
Thank you for your comments they are much appreciated. This little girl just loved the camera and it was impossible to take a photo without her looking. I don't think she had ever seen a camera before and when I showed her the playback she was just so thrilled.
Kind Regards

Very nice color. Just one thing: when she looks right at the camera like that, I don't really feel she is alone. I feel your presence with her. Well, this could be just me. In any case, very nice photo-journalistic shot.
I'm struck by the incongruity of this photo with what I consider life-as-usual. This little girl seems old beyond her years and the photo serves as a document to her grueling life. Would this be called journalistic? Nice compo, rich colors and her smile, well, you are one great photographer to coax that out of her! Veronica
