March 5/04

St. Boniface Basilica in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

This dramatic building is all that is left of the St. Boniface Cathedral-Basilica which was destroyed by fire in 1968. Its cemetery includes the graves of many important Manitoba figures, including Louis Riel.

Powerful image. Love the symmetry and the wide angle you used. Very well composed.

The symmetry of the image grabbed my eye. You've use the perspective to very good advantage. The shadows are ideal. The B&W tonal range is perfect for the subject, too.

Yes, very good processing and a very stong image?

As an aside we had some good friends and neighbours move to Canada in the Winnipeg area, well, SE of there at Landmark??

Wonderful composition and post processing. Makes a strong image.

Gorgeous!! And such wonderful composition, I love the path leading up.
Thanks Linda, I usually take close-up parts of buildings, but you've shown how powerful the opposite can be. I'll try to learn from you : )

Oh Linda this is the type of image one feels they can just walk into.

If I could vote multiple times I would do so.
