It looks tiny and though I originally bought it for use with a small P&S camera it has surprisingly turned out to be more than solid enough to work with the much larger and heavier 828 just as well.

The gray top plate is mounted onto the camera. The circular O-rings provide additional friction when the plate is tightened down.

The thick round release knob can only be moved when a second, smaller knob on the opposite side is pressed in at the same time. A depression machined around the locking knob makes this an easy one hand/two fingers operation. See also the other images!
