Ring-billed Gull
The Moderators Gallery Choice Award: While not quite the detail as the Gallery Director's pick (good choice) and putting aside the difficulties of judging a gallery compressed photo, there is enough detail here to make it enjoyable viewing. The gull very identifiable by it's 'ringed bill' for which it is named as Debbie pointed out and pupils of the eyes clearly visible, not always easy to achieve on a moving target! You see many Gull photos but I particular like this one. Nice capture with the translucence of the feathers, good placement/cropping making you anticipate his forward motion and enough clouds for that ocean atmosphere. I look forward to more of Debbie S. photos as she gains experience with the 300D. - Mab
