Havasu Falls : Week 9

Havasupai AZ, Grand Canyon

Another from Havauspai that includes the entire pool of Havasu Falls just beyond the Supai village. This is a 7 X 3 X 2 image stitch. There are 7 images across and 3 images down with each image having 2 shots to lower the noise (I knew that I would have to brig it up a bit). For the top row, there is an additional series of shots to help capture some of the highlights.

To the lower left, the travertine walls supporting the pool can be seen creating their own unique water fall.

All this work, and I still under exposed by about 1 stop!!! :-)

Canon EOS 1D ,Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM
This is a 7X3 image mosaic. Blended as well. full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Not as big as I had hoped. I had to expose for the brightest part and that was the little section that still has sun hitting it in the upper center part of the image. This forced me to under expose by a wide amount increasing the noise quite a bit. Add to this the longish exposure and I was outside the 1D's prime shooting area.

BTW. Thanks for stopping by.

Absolutely amazing image. I would imagine you could print this out at a very, very large size and maintain resolution too. Beautiful.

There are places, like the Grand Canyon, that you simply have to look through the view finder and press the button and you will get a great image. Havasu is a place that is even easier to get amazing captures. It is truly the Crowned Jewel within the Grand Canyon.
