Feb 5: All Czech to me

Jo has been having terrible problems with her PC. Her mother came over (She's from the Czech Republic) and installed Win XP. But she didn't leave the disks or the activation code. Jo speaks Czech but can't read it. So she was thumbing through this Czech/English dictionary trying to translate the on screen messages from Czech. A rough translation - "Go Away". This old book is so tatty and beaten up I had to photograph it. But look how dark is was today - placed on the window sill I still needed 1/30s f8 at iso1600.

And the PC? Well, I offered to install Linux, but in the end, I found a new ENGLISH copy of XP on Ebay. That should make things easier, although I can't help thinking Linux would have been the better bet...

David, has the book fallen open on the page with the Czech rude words?

Very cool shot. And that window sill is incredible. Can we get more of that?

Has that feel of an old book you perhaps had at school. I know someone who has the word VOLYM on her TV screen whenever she adjusts the sound. Sounds like that set was intended for Poland or Czech Rep!

This is a nice shot. I like the DOF and the noise in the image.

Great job.
