Captured this "captive" bird at a sanctuary outside Brisbane, Australia (note the ankle tag). To me this image is about the light and beautiful texture. This image would work in black & white, but the muted color of the leaves and stones really set the pure Black & White of this bird apart, so I decided to leave the colors in. By the way, I continue to be impressed by the awesome sharpness of this basic (non-EX) 70-300 lens!
