These very nice gentlemen from Ireland visit the U.S. every year to exhibit at this big flyfishing show. They showed great hospitality to my daughter and son-in-law when they fished in Ireland 2 years ago. They are also arranging for them to stay and fish at Ballynahinch Castle in Ireland in June, 2005.
David Byrne (on the left) is the head of the Central Fisheries Board and is based in Navan, the hometown of Pierce Brosnan (the Irish actor who plays James Bond). David is holding a gift from us, a Zipka Petzl. It is a flashlight that is worn around on the forehead. Mine came in very handy during the big east coast blackout of 2003.
Peter O'Reilly (on the right) is the world's leading authority on flyfishing in Ireland. He has written many best-selling books on the subject. He is holding a badge that he just earned, certifying him in the United States as a master flycaster and instructor.
