Tonight I upgraded to a DSL line. First I had to buy and install an ethernet card. It turned out I could have used a USB port. But I only have two of them so I also bought a 3 port USB card. That's what you're looking at. Or a part of it; maybe 1/6. While installing the USB card I knocked the monitor's card slightly out of place. It took a while to figure out why the monitor wasn't coming on. Finally, some excessive force on the card proved that you'll either break it or fix it. I fixed it and the card clicked in place. (It didn't look or feel like it was out.) Now I'm waiting for an extra 256mb of RAM for my overworked 128mb memory. I had to order it from Dell. It's too old for retail stores to carry it!

This was lit with a 50w halogen reading lamp and 200w GE bulbs reflected off my new ultra-white ceiling. The reading lamp was about four inches away. The camera lens was closer!

Very interesting closeup, Mark :) I still have my computer case propped up against the side of the case, so I can see the detail of my video card. You'll love DSL. I only have Cable, but I can't imagine how anyone can live with dialup :)

A fine shot, Mark. The actual subject matter always astounds me - I am clueless when it comes to anything vaguely scientific:)

Nice macro. Too me, the whites seem almost too white and the shadows from the top, too dark. I have found it very difficult to light anything with a desk lamp successfully. You don't live by Jeanne do you? I've heard plastic milk cartons make good difusers.
