Yes, they are there often, but mostly Sept - Feb. About 1/2 mile up the Chinook Pass highway from the junction with Highway 12 (White Pass Highway) on north side of the highway. Look for a small parking area just after crossing a bridge. There is a gate in an elk fence and a rough trail at the lower end of the canyon. It is a little dangerous getting back on the highway, as the site distance is very short.
