Canada Geese on Okanagan Lake

The air temperature was near minus 20 C, hence the "steam" over the water.

It is supposed to go to something like minus 26 tonight. We will
have a new record, I think. At one time, earlier today when the air was
still, there were spirals of mist rising quite high from the lake.

We saw a bald eagle cruising around trying to get a grebe. The
grebes were all packed into a tight group out of fear. I didn't get a photo
of that, and the eagle flew off to try his luck elsewhere. John Smythe has
seen an eagle hunting grebes and I think that once he saw it catch one. The
grebes always gather into a tightly packed group, seeming to feel that they
are safer that way.
