I'm taking a day off, after hunting in new snow on Mount Swite yesterday and
the day before. There was a fall of fresh now and the mule deer were quite
active. I saw does and fawns on both days, got pictures of them, in fact,
but I find that my new camera can be too much of a good thing under certain
circumstances. Perhaps I will have to carry a tripod for the exciting shots.
I took pictures under hunting conditions, quick and excited, and found that
there was too much camera movement! 10 power zoom shows up my mistakes very
clearly.
In both instances (when I took photos of deer) I had time to put my rifle
down on top of my gloves, take my camera out of my bag, focus and shoot. Low
light in the forest however, and using too much magnification, plus too much
excitement, resulted in pictures that were not worth keeping.
