Thanks, Björn! I took this one without a tripod, just balanced my camera precariously on a rock wall and used the self-timer.
I don't know if I'd call it "easier" composing pictures through my SLR viewfinder, although most of the time I prefer it. The view I get looking through the lens is so much better than looking at an LCD, no matter how big the screen is or how high the resolution. But there are certain shooting positions where the LCD definitely has the advantage - anytime I have to shoot something close to the ground, for example. It's much harder to get my eye right up against the viewfinder in that case.

You know, there are some really well composed photos on this site. This one is particularly effective: I like the tight framing, the different textures on the cliff face and the triangular section of foliage in the foreground. There is also a nice contrast between the soft curtain of water and the angular boulder in the foreground. Excellent!
Do you find composing photos on an LCD screen easier or more difficult than through the lens of an SLR?
