Bulb #1 *

I set this shot up without any thoughts of reflections, but I think they ended up being the most interesting element. Also, an adjustable power switch helped greatly to prevent blowing things out. I set the power on low to get the filament glowing, then blended this with another layer that had a shot with the power turned off.
(Revised version with denoising courtesy of dNikmultimedia's dfine uploaded Dec. 14. Still some noise left, but much cleaner to my eye.)

Canon PowerShot G3
15s, 1/4s, and 1/80s, f/4.5 at 28.8mm, ISO 50 full exif

Thanks for kind and helpful comments. I am still looking for the best Mac-compatible de-noiser, since NI is windows-only, I believe. Duotone is an interesting idea and I will give it a try--thx!

I like it, the reflections add a lot to the image. Perhaps a pass in neat image would clean up some of the noise? Also I'd love to see a B&W variant of this or perhaps a duotone. Seriously good work.

Everything I wanted to say has already been said! The noise bothers me a little but overall, it's such a clever photo that it fails to matter.

The photographer is obscured by the center of the bulb, but you can see half of me kneeling next to the tripod if you look closely. Have tried another with a lighted xmas tree as the reflection, bit it wasn't quite bright enough. If I have time I may also resubmit from a raw file to try to bring down the noise.

A good opener for the gallery. I thought light bulbs would be popular. Got a few images in mind myself. I'm still trying to spot the photographer or camera in the reflection though. Hmmm, where are they?

Gorgeous - love the color and detail!

Simply beautiful.

This is an excellent shot. The detail from the filament is very nice and the reflection add depth to the photo.

Like it. I know from my image for Off Center (the bulbs) how difficult it is to take a shot with the bulb lit, not get some kind of 'halo' effect from the bulb and also get the reflections etc. right. You've done it far far better and it looks great.
