Getting ready to head out. Basically, this is right behind the spectator area: we had turned around and were facing west.
The vehicles and tents in the background are the Impound area; the Pit area; and concessions. Spectators can walk through the impound and pit areas. Tarps are laid down in the pits and impound, under the racers, to keep the salt as clean as possible. The participants are really conscientious about that. They are there to go fast; not to trash the place.
